Apron - Part I

I had a dear friend of mine come visit me. We have been friends since junior high but I haven't seen her in almost 10 years! We spent the day together and it was like time had never separated us! I have wonderful memories of our first jobs together, going through driver's training and countless hours, especially in the summer, of just sharing our hearts. Then there were those long summer days we filled with sewing. Unfortunately, my memory is very vague, but she insists we sewed poodle skirts and shorts. She's on a hunt for a picture of us in those poodle skirts. I can't wait to see it! Her eyes fell upon the above apron (Simplicity 3752) I have hanging in my sewing room and commented on how she needs an apron to protect her shirt when she cooks and one that doesn't tie at the neck. I excitedly showed her some vintage patterns my dear mother-in-law recently gave to me.

I excitedly offered to make her one. She picked out pattern #3702 which has straps that criss-cross in the back and button on the waistband. I found some fabric which I think she will like and I can't wait to get it started today! Stay tuned . . .

God bless!
